BioIt is 1:23 AM and it is one of those restless nights. So instead of sleeping, I am updating.
My name is Cathy. I was born in Colombia, but raised in Miami, and I am Dominican/French/Spanish/Irish/German/American, Dominican and American being the most dominant.
My life has been very crazy thus far, but I have been made stronger by all the things that have happened. I have nine brothers and sisters, and all have different stories. My parents were in a cult, so I know what crazy is. I think because of this I have a need to be constantly surrounded by people, but have lots of alone time available to me.
I am a sophomore majoring in history and possibly minoring in Spanish at UC Davis, and I eventually will get my doctorates. I plan to travel the world and visit every country in Europe at least. I want to live in Europe when I am older. I want to learn all the major languages, or at least many of them. I want to sky-dive and have an adventure, JRR Tolkien style. I tend to dream big, and daydream about a blissful future. My biggest fear is to have an incomplete life of what could have been instead of what was. So I will do everything possible to fulfill my dreams.
I have much self-control, and I will never do anything I do not want to do. I am my own person, so I make all of the decisions, and that is that. I love making friends, but will not compromise my beliefs to do so. I do believe in God and Jesus, but do not immediately disregard me and classify me as a stereotypical, hypocritical Christian, for I am certainly not. I Can be as open minded as you. I try to be witty and funny. I like joking, and having a good time. Only one life right? I wish I was an artist and a poet and a brilliant genius of some sort, but I have accepted my role as a mediocre girl, and no longer mope about it. I hope to fall in love and be loved back one day, but have decided that if it does not happen, it is simply not meant for me, and I will still live my life to the fullest.
I value great friendships, love, music, and reading the most. I think my friends are brilliant. I have been through a lot, and my ordeals have only made me stronger. And I know so many people have it worse, so I will not let myself be sad. I love helping people, I love cheering people up or just giving. I will spend a year in a third world country, just so I can help people, just so I can make a difference.
